During a work trip at the end of last year Ivory Flame stayed with us and we grabbed some time with Stefano Brunesci for some 'Harmony of Two' time whilst she was here. We all wanted to achieve something different and different they certainly are! I've been working with Glenn every month throughout 2011. The following pictures are from our last shoot at the start of December. Working with some one over the course of a year is both fun and challenging. Trying to keep things different whilst constantly improving on your last shoot has been a great experience for me as a model. Every shoot has brought something new but we've always had a good time. New pants!

Upon going and getting my bust measured and realising I know have to wear 30DD or 32D bras I went on a mini shopping spree and bought lots of new undies! I wanted to do a shoot that showed me as being a bit more curvy and a bit more sexy then normal, no last mini sucking in of tummy or bending to exaggerate my ribs. The exact opposite. I think these photos came out really well. I was and am a little bit nervous about showing them as it's not my normal genre but I am really pleased with how they came out. Adam is very used to shooting ladies in pants and had to keep reminding me to do 'less arty arms' and things to make the photos really different from my normal posing. It was a fun shoot and a great experiment. Looking forward to shooting with my new pants more!

Vinnie

Vinnie the snake was a wonderful co model on my shoot with his wonderful owner John. This shoot was so much fun, relaxed yet challenging. John was very easy to get on with and shoot with. Vinnie however knew what Vinnie wanted to do, so it was very much a case of working around him! Trying to make interesting shapes etc whilst at times balancing the lovely Vinnie on me some where made me really think about posing! I love snakey snakes, hope to do more shoots with John and Vinnie in the future!

Midnight with Maja

A couple of months ago the lovely Maja Stina came to stay with us and whilst she was here we did a midnight [or at least really rather quite late] shoot with Stefano Brunesci. It's not the first time this has happened with Stefano, being night owls generally I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again! You can see the results from our late night photographic mess about here.

Big thanks to Maja! She was super great fun to hang out and model with. Our looks being nearly totally opposite it was fun to play around with that in regards to posing and expression. Fun fun! Thank you both!

Hair Porn

Following up from our location shoot [Naked Magic] Jim booked a studio session with me in London. We had a fab time, coffee, funny convo & music = most excellent. The shoot whizzed by again and I'm so super happy with the results. I'm just posting two photos for now but you can see more over on Jim's blog HERE.

I think my favourite is the black and white shot, but let me know which you like most as I want to add it to my portfolio! Thanks again Jim! Also for any one that doesn't know me, coffee is very important to me... Jim blogged about this here.

November has seen the latest publication of Cotswold Life Magazine. A monthly magazine which includes fashion editorials. I modeled along side Ivory Flame for Adam Robertson earlier in the year [see the scans here and more images here] and now again along side the lovely Jay Jessop for this months feature. Hurrah!

I've worked with Jay before, but normally when we shoot together she is the hair and make up artist. And very good she is too, you can see our work together before published here and here. But Jay is also an agency signed model and just generally a lady of many talents. So with Jay modeling we had the very wonderful Vicki doing our hair and make up. I've worked with Vicki before too on Lovegrove workshops and also Binkertson Tuition shoots.

It was lots of fun, a big team of people including Candia the assistant editor coming along and providing us with lots of smiles and noms! Vicki Waghorn did hair and make up <3 It was a massively fun day and shoot, big thank you to every one involved.

After we'd done the group session I did an extra bit of time with Dan and that's when we got the photo above. Naked Magic

It's always great when you meet a photographer for the first time and just click. That's exactly what happened when I worked with Jim on one of my Wiltshire Tours. The day was full of laughs, I'm sure there are lots of super giggley outtakes he's been kind enough not to taunt me with, as well as zipping round different locations. As a Wedding photographer Jim is great at approaching each location and seeing numerous shots and working through them quickly. It made the shoot very relaxed and enjoyable.

We were very lucky with the weather too which made things easier. Although the wind did do it's best to push us over at times, and in the Pixie Wood we had to take shelter for a while... Aside from that I could really enjoy my being out in nature, I was very grateful when the wind calmed down. Even in the wildest weather there is something really magical about posing in the countryside nude. But on the day of this shoot the elements were more then kind to me, moving from pose to pose in the calm warmth in the Wiltshire landscape was really enchanting. I think my happy hippie connection to the Earth is reflected quite clearly in my posing and expression in many of the photos. I hope you like them, there are so many I love but here is just a taster:

Harmony of Two Workshop

The other month I had the pleasure of modeling for a workshop held by Technical Boy at Light Spot Studio in London along side fellow model Ivory Flame. I've done lots of work with Flameh during my time as a model and it's always lots of fun. Challenging at times, bending and stretching even more then you might do when modeling alone to compliment the shapes the other model is making. You can see more of our work together HERE. Wedding Workshop - Book your place!

I'm excited to say that on 21st Sept I'll be modeling for a wonderful workshop and talk with Kenny Kim, Stewart Randall and Sarah P held in a beautiful country Manor House in Wiltshire. The details:

Sarah P Photography has the honour of flying in one of America's most prominent Wedding Photographers, Mr Kenny Kim, author of both “The Wedding Photographer's Planner” and his latest title ‘’Digital Wedding Photography Photo Workshop’’. This workshop as a key learning opportunity for anyone thinking of becoming a Wedding Photographer or for those already in the business. With both hands on experience on the day with models and practical advise with equipment, networking, time management, lighting techniques & post production to name but a few. Kenny is a sponsored speaker of Kodak and has recently been awarded the Top A-List Wedding Photographer by Destination Weddings & Honeymoon publication for 2011. He will also be covering a topic on how to prepare for a destination wedding.

The workshop will take place at a beautiful Country Manor House with exquisite grounds, perfect for our photographic needs. An exquisite buffet lunch will be provided as well as refreshments throughout the day.

Kenny will be tutoring on the day, covering all aspects of the field with Sarah P giving a short talk on how she started her journey into photography and within two years has made it into the successful business we see today.

UPDATE: We will also have another guest speaker during our workshop. Stewart Randall of Folio Albums gives a presentation on "Great album design made simple". Stewart will cover his 7 key principles of simple and effective album design as well as explaining how to organise an album to best tell the story of the day. There will also be some examples of great album design and tips on how best to showcase your work.

There are a couple of places left, for any one interested in wedding photography, suitable for those new or experienced in the industry. Working with both natural and artificial lights, 1:1 time with Kenny, time to network with other photographers and industry professionals and of course presentations! Buffet food is even provided a lunch time - nom! The day will run as follows:

MissTaken in Dublin

I've been ever so lucky to get some images sent to me from my Irish Tour already. I worked with Deirdre in Dublin on Friday for 3 hours a the Back Loft Studio working fashion/art nude styles. This lovely lady picked me up from the bus [which was very late I'm so sorry!] at gone midnight and put me up for the night the evening before. We didn't get long in bed before heading out early to beat rush hour traffic in the morning. The coffee shop on the corner near the studio was a very welcome sight before we started our session together.

Deirdre was full of ideas and enthusiasm. You wouldn't of known we'd both had very little sleep! We rocked through lots of out fit changes, running our way around the room getting lots of different shots. It was a great shoot being able to change up what we were shooting, posing in different styles and generally having happy happy fun time! It's a beautiful space to work in, and the natural light there is fab. Before I knew it photos were online already and sitting in my inbox! Yay!

Thank you again Deirdre, I had an awesome time with you. Thanks for all your help picking me up, giving me a place to sleep and helping me on to my next shoot that day. Can't wait to see you again x

Nigenw on a Wilts Tour

Nigenw joined me for 2 days in June for my 'Wiltshire Tours' and there are so many rocking photos I'm separating them out into 2 blogs. Today's blog is for our location shots the next will feature our studio shots. We spent the first day wandering down country lanes shooting under bridges and at the round house, strolling through woodland and nature reserves and having a jolly good time.

Thanks to Mr Duck for modeling with me on the last shot!

Nige is one of the nicest humans I have ever met. If he contacts you for a shoot I can promise that you'll have a great time and create some cracking photos too. I've worked with Nige 5 times, 3 Lincolnshire Tours, a studio day session in Preston and a Wiltshire Tour. On top of that he's stayed at my house and been the perfect house guest and is always fantastic company. If you get the opportunity to work with him take it!

Taken at the bottom of the field that backs onto my garden in Wiltshire. There are the most beautiful white daisy's and I was desperate to shoot in them. I love summer and Adam's processing has really added to that warm, summery feel. Some are quite similar but I love them as a series. Hope you like them, do let me know what you think ^_^

Ghosts

I spent a wonderful weekend at White Space Studio in Chesham last weekend. We did 2 full days of studio time and I got to meet and work with lots of new people, some for just an hour, others for up to 3! It was a great weekend, studio days are amazing for being creative. Every person bringing a new energy and creative theme with them for their session.

During my time at the studio I got to work with Terry, we shot lots of different sets during our shoots but this one was fantastic fun. Armed with an LED torch I got to create the lighting myself, choosing where to focus the light and where not to. It was so much fun! Thank you Terry! The results were unpredictable but I just love the ghostly nature to them. Certainly something I'd love to try again in the future.

I work with Glenn regularly which is fantastic for a variety of reasons. It means we know how each of us works, how well we can work together and it means I can experiement with poses safe in the knowledge that if it doesn't work out, it won't go online. It's a fabulous way to work, relaxed and creative. I know that at the end of every shoot there are going to be images I love. One of the challenges is keeping things different and not falling into a rut with what we shoot together. On our last shoot at my home studio we shot with one light, and for most shots I just worked through props one and a time. It's amazing to me how the mood of each image can be so different with so little changing. Just a different prop, pose and expression. There's nothing changing in location, lighting or excessive amounts of work done in photoshop. It's simple and I love it.

Starting Modeling : Staying Safe

Getting into modeling
Modeling can be fun, and potentially earn you extra pennies. You can meet some great people and have an amazing amount of fun. But make sure you are doing it for the right reasons, have a good think before you do your first shoot. Why are you doing this? If it's for any of the reasons below I'd seriously suggest you think twice:
- You want to tell your friends your a model - If this is your sole reason for wanting to do some shoots I'd suggest finding a professional photographer and booking in a shoot. Do your research, have fun, learn and get some cool images for your portfolio. A pro photographer should be able to guide you with posing and explain how the industry works.

- You want to gain confidence - Modeling can give you an ego boost, people telling you that you look pretty etc. But be aware that there are going to be people that don't like your look. If you aren't thick skinned and prepared to take the good with the bad this isn't the place to gain confidence.

- You want a model boyfriend/girlfriend - Modeling websites are definitely not the place to go looking. You will get reported and booted off the site. It isn't a dating service. Go looking elsewhere ;) Flirting online isn't professional and people will soon get wise to your antics.

- Earn Cash Quick - Really? Sell a few things at cash converters, it's safer. You can earn some money from modeling, but it won't necessarily be quickly or more importantly safely. Don't dive in head first just cause some one is offering you money.

Reasons to pursue modeling:
- To meet people who are creative - There are lots of creative people for you to work with. Lots of them are very good at what they do. It's quite easy after a bit of research to identify the wheat from the chaff to help create the 'art' you aspire to be a part of.

- You've done your research, you want the money - You know it won't be easy, but you have decided what levels of modeling you want to target and know you will have to work hard for it.

- You want to have fun and get some nice images along the way - Fair enough. Again, do your research. Stay safe and there is plenty of fun to be had.

Doing your research
When you start modeling, or thinking about starting there are some things you need to ask yourself:
- Why am I doing this?
- What am I happy to do and not do? [levels]
- Am I happy to travel?
- Do I want to spend money, just get photos or earn money?

Levels
Fashion - In internet land that means wearing clothes. In the agency world this can mean some nudity. The 'fashion tit' making a regualar appearance in vogue. Make sure you are clear on what you are happy to do.
Beauty - It's a headshot but with a team on board to do your make up and hair. Chances are you will be told you can't have straps covering your shoulders. You may be asked to pose topless to achieve this, but it doesn't mean your boobies will be on show. Again, be clear when arranging a shoot what is expected of you.
Lingerie - Lingerie to me, is the commercial style stuff. It's not particularly sexy, although it might be a little sensual. Generally it's quite innocent but you will be in just your bra and pants.
Glamour - The sexed up version of lingerie. Anything from bra and pants to just pants! This is not the 1950's. Most people now see glamour to be page 3 style work. It's sexy and meant to titillate the viewer.
Implied Nude - You will be naked. But you won't see anything 'rude'. But you will be naked. I can't say this enough times. Some photographers may allow you to wear a flesh coloured thong, but this isn't something you should assume. You may pose with material etc to help cover you or just use your body. Chances are the photographer will see you naked.
Fashion Nude - This means you will be at least partly nude. You will be using clothes or jewelery and exposing parts of your body. This is not implied. Make sure you discuss with the photographer the amount of nudity involved and what you are happy with.
Art Nude - This often includes 'full frontal nude'. This means you can see everything. Many art nude models have some pubic hair to make sure nothing is on show that they don't want to be. Others don't. It's up to you as the model to decide. I have pubic hair as it means I can pose and know I'm not showing anything I don't want to. You will be naked, the photographer will see your body and take photos of it. Art nude isn't necessarily sexy, it's about the light on your body and the poses you make to create shapes with your body.
Glamour Nude - This often includes full frontal nude. This is alot sexier then art nude. You'll see alot more eye contact with glamour nude than art nude. It's about the female form looking sexy. Again, the photographer will see you naked and take photos of you naked.

Anything above this is definitely straying into the 'adult' industry. Some people would class some of the glamour & nude levels as adult. This is your decision. And make sure you've thought it through, and googled imagery of the levels you are considering doing. Once photos of you are online there ain't nothing going to get them to go away. After the listed levels above you can expect to start seeing terms such as:

G/G - This is girl girl work. You will be posing with another female model in a sexy way. This may include kissing and other 'softer' levels of work.
B/G - This is boy girl work. You will be posing with a male model in a sexy way. This may include kissing and other 'softer' levels of work.
Hardcore g/g or b/g - This is much less subtle. Sexual acts are performed.
Video work - This isn't just 'stills' or photos now, you will be being filmed.

Whatever levels you think you are happy with, research them. Speak to models that work to those levels and get all the advice you can. The more time you spend researching the options now, the more likely you will be happy at shoots. Always clarify with the photographer what you are shooting, always. Check his portfolio, does his/her art nude category show more then what you are willing to? Take your time, ask questions be safe.

Investing in your modeling
Decide how much time you are happy to spend modeling. It's very easy to get sucked in and addicted. Your time is worth something, so make sure you are investing enough time to achieve your goals without making sacrifices else where in your life. This might change if you start earning money but don't loose sight as to why you started this in the first place.

Travelling to shoots is not uncommon. As a professional model I travel all over the place, this can mean staying away from home overnight, if not longer. If this is something you are not happy to do, work out what places are within the radius you are happy to travel before you start looking to shoot. When accepting bookings make sure you know how long it will take you to travel each way.

Spending/TF*/Earning from modeling
Payment for modeling boils down to 3 basic descriptions, the model pays, you trade, or you get paid.
Paying a photographer - If you are happy to pay to kick start your portfolio make sure you know exactly what images you want and don't go with the cheapest offer. A professional photographer isn't going to take amazing photos of you for 15.
TF* - 'Trade For*' often TFCD [Time for CD of images] or TFP [Time for Print]. Unless you really want prints of yourself, or want a 'book' to go to an agency with TFP isn't always the best option. TFCD I feel is more benificial. Make sure you know in advance what the agreement is. 4 hours modeling, you see all the photos and get to choose 4 images etc
Getting paid - Unless you launch straight into adult levels chances are you won't get paid straight away. You need to build up a portfolio demonstrating your abilities to pose/do your own make up etc. Modeling isn't just standing infront of a camera ;) See the above two options for doing this.

Websites
You'll be able to find examples of most levels on the following websites. Be aware that when you join, you can't see 'adult' images. So no nudity, you'll have to disable the work safe mode. Joining these websites will enable to find people to work with of all levels.

Safety
Safety should be your number one priority at all times. Always. You don't cross the street without looking for cars, and you don't just walk into strangers homes. Staying safe is easy as long as you keep up some basic steps:
- Make sure you and the photographer are on the same page in regards to levels
- Check references, email other models and ask about their experiences
- Ask questions. Make sure you know where the shoot will be, at what times.
- Tell some one where you are going.

For example, my partner knows the address of the studio/home studio, photographers telephone number, name and what time I'm due back. If I'm not in a studio and on location I always ask for the rough area and also the photographers car details. If I'm not on the train I'm meant to be home on, and he can't reach me he's got an excellent starting point for finding out whats going on.

I am always happy to give references. You can email me any time about any one. If I haven't worked with them I will ask trusted pro models if they have and get back to you. Talk to your model colleagues working at the same levels as you are. Keep each other safe.

Dress me up

During a studio day in London the other month I work with Ayad. I'd spoken to Ayad online about what he wanted to do during his slot and discussed some outfit ideas etc so when it came to shooting we were on the same page and knew what we were going to do. I had outfits planned out ready to shoot and the time flew by!

Creative Techniques Workshop

Last month I had a great time modeling for a workshop in London. The day was split into 2 halves, and 2 groups. Each half of the day covered different in camera techniques for getting more creative imagery. It was a lovely day, every one was so nice and enthusiastic that it was a really great energy buzzing around. I'm so lucky in this job that I get to meet and work with such a range of fab people.

The workshop was held at Light Spot Studio and run by Dan Hubbert, there are workshops monthly through his 'meetup' photography group.

Studio Day - Chesham

I'll be working in Chesham at the wonderful White Space Studios on the Sat 18th and Sun 19th June.

About the Studio:
White Space has 2 large rooms for shooting in, one with has the use of paper backdrops and another huge room painted white with textured walls, high ceilings, tables, chairs, wallpapered walls and lots and lots of props!

Of course there is also an excellent range of lighting including octobox, boom, strip softboxes etc For a full list of what is available visit their website here.

What ever your style of shooting, White Space has the facilities to make it happen. So whether you've been before [in which case you'll know exactly what I mean] or if you are looking for a great studio to shoot in this is a fabby place to be!

What I'll be bringing:
I'll be working through portrait, fashion, lingerie up to art nude levels on both days. So this means I'll have a wealth of awesome props and accessories with me. I'll have a great range with me to cover every ones tastes, and you can of course email me to discuss what you'd like me to bring ahead of the day. Including funky fashion, elegant evening wear, latex accessories, beautiful corsetry, lingerie and more. From full outfits to awesome accessories for fashion or classical nude work. It'll be awesome! How the day works:
You can book as many hours as you like, whether it's 1, 2, 3 or more! Each hour is priced at £50 which is a discount on our combined rates. It includes the studio, me, my travel and any assistance you may want. The day is laid out with short breaks every 2 hours to ensure that I'm fresh and ready to go, times are as follows on both days, I'll keep this up to date as slots sell...

Binkertson - Part 1 of 2

A couple of weeks ago I shot with an all new Binkertson team. It was so fab, everything just clicked together so well. Every one involved had met some one else on the team, but we'd never all worked together so it was a really enjoyably experience. We all got on so well that realizing concepts was easy as we were all on the same page straight away. The team came from all over to Wiltshire for a day split between studio and location work. I couldn't of asked to work with a nicer, more professional or creative group of people. A huge thank you to all of you. Here are the photos from our time outside, shot at the end of our back garden! Portraits in Cricklade

I've spent the past few days on a little trip from Hemel Hempstead, working at White Space Studios and Camera Club, to London for a creative techniques workshop at LightSpot Studio to Cricklade for short session with 4 lovely chaps all attending a portraiture course taught by Simon Young. I've never been to The Blackthorn School of Photography but I'm really pleased to have worked there. Set amoungst farm land and landscaped gardens it was just perfect for setting the mood of the shots. I've already had some photos back from todays session, talk about a fast turn around! In the Moonlight

Not literally. These shots were taken in my home studio by Roger. There is something in the tones that remind me of moonlight. I absolutely love the first shot, I really enjoy posing for abstracts and bodyscapes. It's something I'd like to do more of. There's something more challenging about it, making just one small area of your body more interesting to look at. A big thank you to Roger for a fun studio session again this year :) Hope you like them!

Exhibition - Taunton

I just found out I am in an exhibition in Taunton! If you are local, go check it out and support the photographer Paul Bratcher :) It's being held in a lovely coffee shop so you can even grab a cuppa whilst you take a look around. The images are a selection from Paul's participation in the 365 project where he took a photo every day, so there is a very wide range of imagery. Every thing there is for sale, the exhibition meant to promote affordable art. So if you see something you like, don't be shy!

The exhibition is on until the 5th June, at Roots Cafe, 46 North St, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1LW

Out the back of where I live there are wild grass meadows which start looking really beautiful in Spring time. The hedgerows blossom and blue bells appear. When Glenn came over we decided to shoot on location as it was such a beautiful day, and we just strolled around my garden and neighbouring fields. Normally we shoot in the home studio so it made a nice change and produced some very different photos from what we normally shoot. So in the wonderfully warm sunshine, here are a couple of images we achieved.

Ever fancied a trip to the countryside? WILTS/GLOS in JUNE

Where am I?
I am only 26 miles from the M5 Junction 11a.
I am only 7 miles from the M4 Junction 16 and 13 miles from M4 Junction 17.

I've moved! I now live in Wiltshire and have discovered a wealth of locations all within a 30 minute drive of where I live. From wild grass meadows to derelict round houses I've got something to cater to everyone!

What happens on a tour?
I offer reduced rates when working in my local locations, all within a 30 (allowing for tractors etc) minute drive from my house so if you fancy a cuppa it's not far to go at any point during the day! The day is meant to be a relaxed one, no insane speeding to get to locations or anything of that kinda thing. We bumble round to numerous locations, some suited more to art nude [woodland] and some suited more to fashion and portraits [beautiful stone buildings of an open, but very quiet, railway station]. I also can't guarantee weather - I could try asking God but I'm not sure if he/she knows what it'll be like on the day of our shoot either.

As a part of this I do ask for a £50 deposit, that way if we fall out of touch in the run up to he shoot, I still know ya'll are coming and you know I will be there = relaxed. The total cost is £175.

What do you get for your £175?
Up to 8 hours dotting round locations taking pictures in lovely countryside.
Tea and coffee on tap.
The option of mixing location work with studio work.
A vast collection of highstreet fashion from casual day wear to formal evening dresses AND designer latex and corsetry.
My home studio as a back up option if we are unfortunate with weather.

No travel expenses for me + a reduced rate + locations on tap = Bargin!

What do you need?
You will need a car, as I don't have one. I can not pick you up from the train station, it's too far for me to walk.
You will need a camera.
I would suggest a tripod, I have one you can borrow if need be.

Cotswold Life Magazine

A few weeks a go myself, Adam and Stefano all left the house very early with Andy to go to Aynhoe Park near Banbury. There we met Jay our wonderful hair stylist, Sophie our MUA and Ivory Flame. We were shooting for Cotswold Life Magazine with dresses from Feva Boutique for a fashion editorial photographed by Adam. The house itself is amazing! The UK's largest taxidermy collect is there with giraffes, polar beers and even a unicorn! The May edition of Cotswold Life Magazine was out on Wednesday and here are the tearsheets:

I spent yesterday in Reading doing a studio day at Paul's Studio. Nine hours of slots were sold to 4 different photographers. My first session was with Mel Pettit and he's sent me a link to his images already! Had an awesome shoot last weekend with Nikita Sablier styling a photo shoot for photographer Riccardo de le Venetzia. It was great fun, as we all knew each other and had worked together separately before, so was awesome to work together as a team on a shoot. Nikki is awesome at putting outfits together quickly to create different looks. I love working with her :D And getting to see images so quickly after a shoot is always awesome - thanks guys!

In other news I've had two super exciting shoots this week. Hopefully have images back from Monday's shoot at New Cross, London next week to share with you. Very, very excited. Mmmm mocha

Hanging out with Zoe Wiseman always means a few things. There will be mocha, there will be cigarettes and there will be amazing photos. Add being in Australia to the mix and it's a dream shoot! Lovely and warm, beautiful scenery etc Shooting with any one you can call a true friend is such a great experience, and of course every shoot is an opportunity to make a new friend. Being photographed by Zoe is capturing a moment in our friendship together, it'll capture how we've changed as people and keep it safe forever. I'll be able to look back at these images when I'm older and not only think of the amazing shoots I've been part of but the friends I've made along the way.

Wandering in Wonderland

Did a bunch of snow photos whilst we had the chance, thanks to Adam Robertson and my fellow model Major who was around 10 weeks old when these photos were taken. I was desperate to wear some of my newest items that I LOVE as they photograph so well, followed by a necklace from lovely designer Tiger's Tat before deciding that taking off my shoes and kneeling in snow was a good idea ;) [Outtake inserted of me deciding whether or not to roll round in the snow....]

Hello 2011 - what can you do for me?

Dear 2010, it's been amazing! Thank you! So much has happened and I've loved it. I'm sad to see you go but I can only hope things continue as well as they have during my time with you. Things that've happened in 2010:

- I have been published in Scarlet Magazine for Nikita Sablier

- I have had images in Zoe Wiseman's exhibition at Fiat Lux

- I have shared my first year with my partner Adam Robertson Photography

- I have moved, and now live in Wiltshire after 3 years on the road

- I have been back to Australia, visited Singapore and explored Hong Kong

- I have modeled for amazing workshops, including Wedding Imagery with Jerry Ghioni and with July Lovegrove for Fine Art portraits

- I have been published in books and magazines worldwide with art nude images by various talented photographers

- Modeled for clothing designers such as Hedonia, Lady Lucie Latex, Nikita Sablier, Am Statik & Harold Kensington

Dear 2011, I would like a few things to happen before 2012:

- I would like to travel more

- I would like to get more work published

- I would like to focus on areas of modeling other then nude

- I would like to organise more Team Binkertson workshops and really push our private tuition packages forward

- I would like to find a skin care regime that works for me

Australia is inspirational, beautiful and a joy to work in. I love my holiday time there. I did some photos with the very wonderful Mel Brackstone this year. I love working with other ladies, there are so few compared to male photographers. She's creative and talented, if you are a model in Oz you should check her out! I have SO many things to blog about but I *have* to blog these nudes from HongKong. I love them so much <3 It's a real fusion of my work and Adam's. And is a Binkertson project that really reflects BOTH our work. It's a bit more edgy and glammy then I normally do, I've even sneaked in a smile! But then there's some parts shots and abstracts which is definitely something I am more acquainted with. I'm just so happy with them! So I am going to post them all.

this is a Team Binkertson project. It's not possible to go to some where so beautiful and not want to shoot. So shoot we did. Fashion, swimwear and nudes. Breaking the rules

As many of you may know, or have by now at least noticed, I work predominately within art nude. Quite strictly in fact. I've strived to make my images as non sexual as possible. Personally, whilst I appreciate the nude form I don't see it in a sexual light. To me it's just a body, you either have what I have or I've seen it before. End of story. I've enjoyed the fact that despite not making 'sexy' images [eg. little to no eye contact and certainly not come to bed eyes, lack of make up etc] people have still appreciated my work. I've tried really hard to perfect posing, spending half my life on my tippy toes, as well as vary my posing repertoire as much as possible. All without things getting too sexy. I've made these rules for myself for a few reasons :
1) I didn't want people looking at my photos cause I was just another girl taking her clothes off.
2) I didn't want people looking at me in a sexual manner.
3) I wanted to show people that art nude can take many forms and isn't just pretty girl in a pretty place.
4) To show people that modeling is a serious job, not just standing around smiling at a camera.

I think I've achieved that to some degree or another and I'm proud of that. I haven't found it limiting in any way and love the challenge of only having my body, photographer and light. No make up, no wardrobe. It's all down to you and the photographer. I think this really helps much your modeling ability. Finding new things to do, learning to work with the light no matter what it's like [studio, bright sunshine, over cast day etc]. Modeling has even helped me face my fear of heights. I might of effed and blinded whilst doing it but I did it. The photos are a memory of strength of facing that fear.

But now I have decided that whilst I will still strive to do art nude in a none sexual light [no met-art / hegre style work here] I am now expanding what I do. I'm sponsored by a boutique, Nikita Sablier so corsets and fancy dresses are now a regular part of my life as well a latex. Now I am striving to embody more persona's. I have shoots lined up focusing more on lingerie and fashion nude work. Have started making more eye contact etc in shoots. It's not something I am doing all the time, and I am being some what selective about who I am doing it with but I'm enjoying it very much.

I'm pleased I waited until now to do so. Breaking my own rules is one thing but creating them has helped me push myself and learn things. I think you have to know the rules to break them, and I don't see why modeling is any different.

When I first started this job I was 18 and really wanted to show that my work wasn't sexy, but now I'm 21 and I want to show that there are more sides to me. I'm growing up, getting older and want to show what else I can do. My Uncle has a saying "Gather ye rosebuds whilst ye may", something he's always said in regards to my modeling. And I think he's right, although I think you can model at any age especially within art nude where age and body shape shouldn't really come into it in my opinion, I'd like to get pictures throughout my life. A story board of changes in my body, posing style and life.

Workshop with Julie Lovegrove

The next workshop I will be working at is on the 9th November. If this is fully booked it will be extended to the 10th to cater to everyone but not exceed our small maximum group size of 5 people. This is a great opportunity to be introduced to art nude, or just brush up on some skills in a friendly environment. The last workshops I did were so much fun and I know this next one will be equally awesome!

5am with Cam the man

This is not the first time I've worked with Cam, and I'm not planning on it being the last. I love working with him and love the images. Today I received a whopping 164 photos. Choosing is ridiculous. I can't. I keep changing my mind! You can see more here, feel free to comment to help me choose.

We started the shoot in the warmth of the sea, running through poses for both stills and some HD video which Cam has used snippits of to create cool slideshows of his work. We spent some time on the beach, between the sea and sand as well as a lone palm tree. Palm tree prooved to be more awkward to pose on, the angle was challenging as it was so steep and not mych to grip onto to stop myself sliding, but I love the photos.

Next was back to the house to shoot some fashion, portraits, corsetry and of course more nudes! The lighting is so beautiful and the bathroom with no roof was pretty amazing!

Time for me to dig out my backpack and get ready for another adventure! This year is slightly different from my usual jaunts across the world. I'm bringing my boyfriend with me, Adam Robertson. It's going to be fabulous! A proper holiday together. YAY. Singapore - Australia - Hong Kong HERE WE COME. Just need to pack....we do leave tomorrow after all! It's going to be so amazing. I am so excited. Seeing new places, seeing friends old and new and dipping my toes into that oh so warm ocean. Bliss.

Expect a whole bunch of blogs from me whilst I'm gone. I'm going to update as much as possible so you can all join my adventure with me. And who knows, maybe next year I'll be coming to see you on my travels too!

Workshop Fun Time with Shirley Nicklin

So I have had SO many images from delegates already, it's actually crazy! Thank you so much chaps and chap-esses! But the so talented Shirley was first so here are her images... I'm sure there are more to come.

Now Shirley and me, we share something. And I feel some what more bonded to her then all the other delegates I worked with over the 3 day workshop. This is simpley because when I got in the lake [my own silly suggestion] after a while of being very cold and covered in goosebumps I decided it was time a photographer got in with me. Of course everyone thought I was joking, but not Shirley. She got right on in tha tlake with me. GO GIRL!

I was working for the Tamara Peel workshop and I had an absolutely fantastic time. I have so many images to share with you. For now, here are some from my water baby friend Shirley. Check out her beautiful photography people - it's well worth it! Thank you Shirley.

Home studio time with Paul

Time to share yet another happy story with you. Although this one starts off some what less then positive. Last weekend I was unfortunate enough to get a cancellation. BOO. But I managed to fill the time, one of thse people was the lovely Paul! Thanks Paul! We worked on location but it started raining, but have no fear my dears the shoot wasn't over. I have a wonderful home studio here in Wiltshire so we retreated back to it and got some great shots. Paul was nice enough to send some over and here they are.

Dave Hunt - Scotland

On my last trip to Scotland I had a the rare experience of working with Ivory Flame. It was our first time working together in Scotland, we've managed Ireland, Wales and England as well as further afield but dates never matached for Scottish land. Whilst we were there we shot with Alex Ingram, Dave Hunt and Tim Pile.

Latest work for Lady Lucie

Nothing makes me happier then waking up in the morning and meeting the postman who has a nice parcel of goodies for me to shoot. Not least of all when the designer is Lady Lucie, who I have worked for on a few occasions now and whose garments are always amazing.This time it was a totally new design, a striped dress, she needed shooting asap to launch the item on her awesome website. I don't think we've ever had a such a quick turn around at Binkertson HQ! Anyway, check her out, you can find me in the dress section as well as the corsetry sections ^_^

Wonderful Wiltshire

One of the great things about moving is that I've been able to explore and find new locations. I've found a nice selection so far, most of which are very quiet and easy to get to but picture perfect :) From stone walls to my 'pixie' wood, I love it round here!

I had a full day shoot with Will the other week, we spent half our time on location and half our time in the studio. Here is a small selection of images from our shoot, I'm sure I'll be posting more. These locations were within 10 minutes of each other and it was a lovely day for it. We were very lucky! But it was nice knowing that if things turned nasty we could just head back to my home studio and continue.

I've known Greg since I started modelling, and like many other photographers I met during that time seeing him again is like visiting an old friend. I always have the best of times with Greg! He has lots of whacky ideas and props which coupled with his gorgeous use of light make for some very unique images. It's not often I post up close up shots, I'm not sure why. I love the lighting on some of these. Make shapes can be much more challenging with abstract shots. You have less of your body to use to make an interesting shape and to work with the light. Here are a few examples from various shoots :

Lincolnshire Tours : Take III

This June I held my third round of Lincolnshire tours and had a great time doing so as well. I've got lots of blogs to do on the 2 weeks of location work I did for this so expect more posts. These tours are quite personal to me as Lincolnshire will always be my home and I don't get to go there much now. It's one reason why I do my Lincolnshire Tours, it's an excuse to go back and also to show off some of the beautiful places there. I don't think many people know much about Lincolnshire bar hearing of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Grimsby. So it's reall nice to share some of these locations that I've been visiting since I was young with people. I'm starting off showing images from Nige.

Nige has been on my tours every year so working with him was extra special on this thrid tour. It was super challenging as I knew he had been to most of my locations before but obviously I wanted to help him create new and exciting images. I think we more then managed it! Although we did re-visist some locations we had been to before I managed to think of a few new spots and I'm so happy we gave it a go.

This was in a run down farm we spotted. It took us a good 20 minutes to walk up the super steep track in the blazing sunshine. We could of gotten up there to find it was all sealed off but we decided to risk it, the idea of it being suitable to work at as a new location for Nige as motivation and the gamble paid off. Whilst many areas were sealed off or padlocked shut one of the old out house was left open. We darted inside into the very welcoming shade and grabbed the above shot.

These shots to the right were taken in two seperate locations. The top images was taken at a layby with these wonderful views of the Lincolnshire Wolds running behind me. Lincolnshire is not flat people. It all looks so peaceful in the photo. You wouldn't think that there were great big noisy trucks rattling past whilst we were shooting.

The bottom images was taken in a nature reserve a bit further inland. It wasn't at all busy so we could relax a little bit more when doing this set. The sky was so blue during this part of the day. It was all very beautiful and I loved being able to enjoy the sunshine properly for a little while.

The image below was in another small abandoned building and despite being dark we did a few shots there. Nige was working with natural light and I really like the dramatic results that were created as a result. The old machinery looks so ery. It was all very run down and smelly. Rotting hay (and God knows what else) covered the floor, all soft and spongey. We had to be very careful whilst working there.

And now for my last two images. These are my absolute favourites from the day. Every year, me and Nige have been very sucessful with the images we have gotten on the beach. Weather it's been super rainy or theres been a few people about so we have to work fast we've always gotten images we love there. And this year was absolutely no exception. I fucking love these photos.

Working with Darren is always a pleasure. I worked with him again the other month and had a fab time! His lovely lady was there too and it was a really enjoyable shoot. His model photography had improoved lots since last I worked with him and he was full of ideas and enthusiasm throughout the shoot.We did classical nude work as well as some corsetry too for variation.

Ivory Flame & Alex Ingram - in Scotland?!?

My trip to Scotland this month was a short but lovely one. I got to see lots of people and had a super wonderful time.

I'll do a full post about it when I can but for now I want to focus on just 3 days of my stay. I got a train to Inverness where I met Mr Alex Ingram. My train journey was beautiful. Train journeys in Scotland are some of my ultimate favouriates out of everywhere I have been.

My top 5 includes the East Coast Line, London to Edinburgh. I start getting excited when the train pulls into Newcastle. From their on the scenary is familar and never boring. Scotland has this rugid beauty. It's the rough and ready kind. It looks good no matter what's going on, come rain or shine. Or 10ft of snow. It looks bloody wonderful. The train leans round the coast speeding you through the boarders. I always get a train that will see me through sunset. It's well worth the bother of checking train times. It's just so insanely beautiful to look at.

The train journey I took to meet Alex and Ivory Flame was no different. Polmont to Stirling. Stirling to Inverness. Beautiful. Alex was waiting for me at the platform. It was a bit of an occassion for me as normally I would of seen Alex at least once already this year but due to him being snowed in and then me being snowed in. The weather has but a stop to any plans. So simpley arriving was fantastic. Alex even took a photo to mark the event!

Just moments after I arrived Ivory Flame's train was pulling in on the platform opposite my train, just minutes apart. It was a marvelous example of trains running on time and just doing what they are meant to do. Which makes me happy. People slate the trains so much, and I feel this overwhelming need to stick up for them. I spend so much of my life on them. Being on a train feels like being at home, and I'm sure people don't like their homes being insulted. So this was lovely, two on time trains arriving next to each other. One for me and one for Flame.

And there it was, the first time the three of us had been in the UK together. We've managed to meet up in other countries, just never our own. Madness!

It was also the first time Flame and I have been together in Scotland. We've managed every other part of the UK and Ireland but some how Scotland has just never come together for us. So we snapped a picture of us at the Inverness Train Station sign. Proof we were there, bags and all. I look some what like a fat penguin.

The drive back to Alex's was stunning. Cross country from the East coast and over to the west. I love the West Coast of Scotland. It feels like going home. I recognize most things and have a real interest for the area. I do my best to remember names and places, routes and directions. I want to know all there is about it, it's such an inspiring place. One of few I know where humans really are just a small part of the landscape, not a dominant feature. The highland cattle, the deer, rivers and mountains. Every one should visit this place in their lifetime.

We got up the next morning to some rather dismal weather. It wasn't great. The moountains were half covered by cloud. But it didn't dampen our spirits as we hoped into the car and off location scouting. Everytime I go I ask Alex for a new location. And most recently locations new to him. These aren't easy to find when you've been living in the area for so long. Driving up the Bealach na Ba - look it up it's worth it - and back down again. When suddenly Flame scouted a beautiful lochan with wonderful reflections on the near still water. Loch Fada it was. New to all of us.

Mission complete. Although this was a social visit as neither of us had seen Alex since October 2009 we all wanted to get an image done. It's unfortunate that I can't simply can't convey how cold that water was mind you, it might make you appreciate the end image even more! We hit the road once more and off to Kinlochewe with a fabulous view of Torridon Mountains as we went. It was a great trip. Beautiful scenery. Lots of picture stops as we went. Originally I wanted a snow photo. I've wanted one ever since I first went up to stay with Alex. But once more it was not to be. But the image we did get more then made up for it.

All to soon it was time to pack our bags and get to sleep ready for heading off the next day - this will be one of my next blog entries with any luck! I had a marvelous time and simply can't wait to go back. I'm planning my next visit already :)

A day in Chester

I had a lovely day in Chester working with two photographers in two different studios. It's not often I split days up like this, I'm worried about my train running late and ruining the timing etc But the day went so well I'll definitely do it again.

First up was Peter and we did a range of fashion and nude work :

The later part of my day was spent with Gareth in his studio. We did a range of different art nude styles including the ones featured below. It was great working with people with totally different approaches to thhe style of their work in one day. These images from Gareth are totally different from Peter's and I love the fact that you would't know they were taken on the same trip, seperated by just a few miles and different creative minds.

Valentines Day Weekend

Valentines day weekend. Hectic! But utterly fabulous. Starting off travelling to London to shoot with two of my favourite creatives. Technical Boy and IvoryFlame, most of which was spent in make up to create a tribal theme. We played around with movement and longer exposures to create intimate, firelight dance images. They worked really well, definately something different from the work Flame and I normally do. Of course we went on to do some more posed shots under a brighter and distinctly less orange light whilst keeping hold of the tribal theme. Awesome outfits made by IvoryFlame!

Wiping the make up off and running back to the tube gave me precious few moments to catch up with Flameh but I gad to get to Camden so couldn't afford to dillydally! Meeting Adam outside the Purple turtle and darting straight inside to get into my outfit. Three shots and the shoot was over. This shot is a present. It's not my usual thing as you may be able to tell, I couldn't take it bery seriously! It's for the beautiful Ella Devine. A fabulous alternative model who I have worked along side for Nocturnal Magazine and Nikita Sablier Fashion shows. If all else fails we see each other every other month at Festival of Sins, which we have both modelled at and I now write articles for on their shows. So here I am, in the outfit Ella requested.

Happy belated birthday darling, I'm sorry I didn't see you for longer on your birthday.

After that we waited for Seef . An alternative male model friend of mine and Adam's before heading off. It was my first time working at TG before, I haven't even attended for years. Always too busy with work and more often then not, out the country at the time. I was working for Photobooth. It was enjoyable, and I'd definately do it again. I worked through till 2am and really loved seeing so many people just loving having their photo taken both with and without me. I also got to meet some people I've spoken to online but never in the flesh, hello Roswell Ivory, hello Ruby True! 2am came and Adam picked me up, he'd just finished working at FoS, and we headed home.

Seef & myself

Not getting in till 4am meant we didn't get up until gone noon and then spent most of the day in bed. We agreed not to do any admin at all so we did nothing but relax for a day which was great! It's not something either of us are particularly used to, normally either working or organising future work on a daily basis. The evening came and we had curry with Adam's parents, sister and her partner. Not exaclty a romantic night in for 2 but a really nice evening all the same.
